Just Write.
Just write. Write for you. Write for your peace. Write for your soul. Write for your hope. Write for your grief. Write for your pain. Write for your joy. Write for your sorrow. Write for your journey. So what if no one reads it. So what if nothing ‘becomes of it.’ Do it for you. Do it for your soul. Do it for your joy. Write for your peace. Write because you love it. Write because you love it. What a foreign concept to me for many years. Do it because it brings you happiness. Do it because you love it. I love to write. I do. It makes me…

First Day
Tomorrow will be his first day. A day full of firsts. First day riding the bus alone. First day of school. First day eating in a cafeteria. First day being on his own without family for 8 hours. There is a code that is not listed on our badges. There is a code that is unlike the others. When other codes are called there is an urgency to save that patient in need. To do everything…

Memories
When you think about loved ones or friends that you have lost, what do you remember most? What character trait sticks out to you? Do you remember their laugh, the smell of their perfume, their favorite color, or maybe their favorite meal? Many studies tell us that smell is one of the strongest senses linked to our memories. My Oma and Opa’s house always smelled of mothballs. When I smell them it brings a joy to my heart and many childhood memories. The memories of playing on the steps for hours with my nephew, brother and cousins going through the mountains of magazines that Oma and Opa had saved. Playing…
